Majelis Ulama Indonesia (for short MUI; Arab: مجلس العلماء الإندونيسي‎ Majlis al-ʿUlama' al-Indunīsī) is an independent and independent organization that gathers Islamic scholars, dignitaries and intellectuals from all over Indonesia to guide, build, and protect Muslims in Indonesia. This body was founded on 17 Rajab 1395 Hijri or 26 July 1975 AD in Jakarta, Indonesia. In accordance with its duties, MUI assists the government in doing things related to the benefit of Muslims, such as issuing fatwas on the halal status of certain foods, determining the truth of a movement in Islam, and matters related to a Muslim's relationship with those around him.
