Perpustakaan Negara Malaysia (or PNM) (Jawi: ڤرڤوستاکاءن نۢARA ملیسیا) is an agency responsible for keeping a collection of knowledge treasures at the national level for present and future generations. PNM was established in 1966. At that time, PNM was only a unit under the National Archives that played a minor role in implementing the Book Preservation Act 1966 and the publication of the National Bibliography of Malaysia. The National Library started opening the Reference Section to the public after the National Library Act 1972 was passed.

The PNM building construction project started in 1978 in Jalan Tun Razak, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. The PNM building reflects the Malaysian personality that symbolizes intellectual achievement. The design concept is based on the traditional Malay Tengkolok while the mind concept influences the interior architecture. The atmosphere of the space symbolizes the wide-open movement of the intellectual faculty. This building was completed and inaugurated in 1992.

PNM currently has 500 staff and is led by a Director General, YBrs. Maizan binti Ismail and a Deputy Director General, Mr. Rahman Bin Sudin (Responsible for Work).
